The colours and the craftsmanship I think are what got me going the most...

 

Perfume Project...

Brief: to design and make a perfume bottle for a London based designer with reference to their work; as well as packaging, campaign and marketing...

MDX Fashion BA Second Year Menswear Exhibition...

Was blown away by the work of the Second Year Fashion BA course last night at their alternative static show...including work from some of my very good friends...so clever.

I'm so sorry and I'm an idiot, but I forgot to write down all of the names of the designers, so if anyone sees this and wants a mention...let me know...

Amazing work though fashion!

Island Man...

As a long, hard term in LDN draws to a close, I was reminded of this poem by Grace Nichols...I love it so much. 

Get me back to some Cornish air soon please!

ISLAND MAN

(for a Caribbean island man in London who still wakes up to the sound of the sea)

Morning

and island man wakes up

to the sound of blue surf

in his head

the steady breaking and wombing 

wild seabirds

and fishermen pushing out to sea

the sun surfacing defiantly

from the east

of his small emerald island

he always comes back            groggily groggily

Comes back to sands

of a grey metallic soar

                             to surge of wheels

to dull north circular roar

muffling muffling

his crumpled pillow waves

island man heaves himself

Always a bit of a androgyny lover myself...this is a very clever move from the creative director at newly rebranded Saint Laurent Paris, Heidi Slimane...BRAVO old chap.
